Wed, 15:46: Like, I get that his behavior ISN'T appropriate. But the detention they suggested is not a productive option. Addressing his needs IS.
Wed, 15:47: My kid is *ahem* "high functioning" (arglebargle) so it's tough for teachers to interpret his behaviors as Autistic. I get that.
Wed, 15:48: So when I find myself saying "What would the response be if Jonas was exhibiting more typically Autistic behaviors?" I'm not even mad.

Wed, 15:50: I just hope they actually have a lightbulb moment where they ingest my kid's Autism as a need of his, not an annoyance of theirs.
Wed, 15:51: Special needs parenting is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. Or, more realistically, it toughens up that heart in a real hurry.
