In the ten years since my husband and I sent each other secret love letters through Livejournal, there have been long afternoons spent laughing in bed, longer nights spent holding hands in a hospital. Tense discussions about children and money and differences in communication styles. Smacking, lippy kisses and the body heat of the other.

A ten year romance.

A lot can happen in a decade. A lot can wither, if it's not rooted just so. But a lot can flourish, with enough dedication to keeping root systems intact. By agreeing wholeheartedly what those root systems should be.
