Well that's special
Jun. 24th, 2014 01:37 pmIliana has been going through...something lately. Some kind of regression that is impacting pretty much everything. And, okay, I get it. She's made a lot of strides lately. She got her own room and started sleeping in her own bed for the first time at the beginning of last month, then started in a new daycare group that is more like actual preschool, then started using the toilet (she just decided to start that up one day, with encouragement but not pressure at all from us) and is now working on writing some letters. This is all her driven; I'm just trying to encourage her to grow however she seems ready to grow, if you know what I mean. Anyway, so she's making these enormous strides. Plus, she's three.
Well, all of a sudden at the end of last week she decided that she didn't want to sleep in her own room, started being super clingy, and now has refused to use the toilet at home. She's only in school 2 days a week so for the rest of the week, she's still "going" in her diapers. I had to put her back in pull ups because it was just getting too grody. Well, today she got mad that I told her she couldn't do whatever it was that she was asking to do next until she let me change her dirty diaper. She picked up a cup of water that she had been drinking and threw the water at me. It got all over my laptop and the floor and me and oh man I was SO ANGRY. She was in time out while I cooled down, and then we changed her diaper and she cleaned up the water.
My laptop has been on its last legs for awhile, with some of the wires around the screen exposed. We can't afford a replacement until we're all done with the remodel and complete the refinance (that was a huge goal of the remodel in the first place). And now the exposed wires got all wet and my poor laptop's last legs have been hobbled. I mean, I'm typing this entry out on it right now so it works as far as that goes, but the scratch pad and the little mouse button are both broken and the screen is fritzy. Sometimes it'll jump to a different screen, or select a different field on the same screen, and I'll have to tab tab tab back to where I was. And did I mention the fritzy screen? Well, that means I can't exactly see what field the cursor is on, so I dunno.
Okay I just had to write that all out because I'm super frustrated and angry, and didn't want to take it out on my, you know, toddler. Sigh.
Back to the heaven that is my life!
