• Wed, 08:10: And we're off! I officially have a high schooler. His first class just started and I'm like OK self, he's not your 2lb baby anymore. Deal.
• Wed, 08:12: And then self is like but....but...he's my small, sweet guy in a school of 1600! A quarter of whom are damn near adults. Halp!
• Wed, 08:13: Fortunately, his HS did a remarkable job of hosting orientations geared towards fostering community and making everyone comfortable.
• Wed, 08:14: Also, they're doing this thing where freshmen and new students show up first to go through their schedules / find their classes...
• Wed, 08:16: Then, they have a new student welcome assembly, and THEN the rest of the school shows up around 10 for classes. Good on you, giant HS.
• Wed, 08:22: At Jonas' orientation last week, they broke the kids into groups of ten freshman and two upper classmen volunteering as resource guides.
